I would like to learn about the quality of the 16' dual temp Swim Max swim spa. We would like a combination unit but are limited in space so this unit has great appeal. I have seen ratings for Swim Ex but cannot find any for Swim Max. Is anyone familiar with this manufacturer? Thanks.

I can tell you what I know.

Swim Max swim spas are sold by Swim Max Party Pools LLC. They have two websites: and Their address is 6101 45th Street N., Saint Petersburg, FL 33714. This is also the address for Premium Leisure LLC (

Premium Leisure LLC has an A rating with the BBB. The have a good reputation within the industry for making a quality product and selling it at a fair price.

Comparing it to a SwimEx is comparing to very different creatures. What will you be using the swim spa for? Who will be using it?

I am 69, my hubby is 75. I will be the principle user. I have arthritis and a lot of stiffness and love water exercise as I am able to move freely without pain. Because of a back problem, I no longer swim. In place aerobics work well. I do not need current, although some movement of the water would be nice. A separate temperature hot tub for 2 would be ideal. The unit we are looking for must be as small as possible given the small lot size in our senior community plus the limitations of our Association rules. We hope to put it adjacent to the house and cover it with a sliding enclosure for year round use. And lastly, we have financial limitations. I guess we are seeking a good value therapy pool for 2 crooked old-timers.

The SwimEx is a great machine. It is built to generate a current for swimming. To do this it uses a large paddle wheel and built in channels to take the water from the back to the front of the swim spa. This design requires additional space, cost and time in installation. All of which are worth it for the quality of the swim current -- if you are interested in swimming.

Premium Leisure makes a high quality swim spa. They have a dual temp spa with jets that sound like it would meet your needs.

Have you looked at Endless Pools. They also have a dual temp exercise spa. The only advantage with them is that they offer a powered underwater treadmill.
